How can you keep your cut flowers fresh and vibrant as long as possible? A little TLC goes a long way!
- When you receive your flowers, keep them in a cool place until you are ready to place them in a vase.
- Cut the stems of flowers diagonally underwater with a sharp knife or clippers (cut off one to two inches). Cutting underwater decreases the chance of air getting into the stem, causing a blockage that reduces water uptake.
- Remove any foliage that will end up below the waterline in the vase.
- Keep the vase filled with water containing the flower food sachet provided with your Ontario Flowers™. It is very important to follow the mixing directions!
- Re-cut flower stems regularly and change the vase water every two days - your flowers will look better and last longer.
- Keep flowers in cooler places away from direct sunlight, breezes, heating or cooling vents, ceiling fans or on top of heat sources such as televisions or radiators.
